Pizza class was fun

So, I tried their Pizza and Pasta Masterclass last week. It was pretty cool! The chef was good, explained stuff well. My pizza actually looked decent for once. Only thing, the ingredient list came a bit late, had to rush to the store.

Good Eggless Baking course

I bought the Eggless Baking Workshop. The instructions were clear, easy to follow. Everything worked out. Just wish they had more courses for specific vegan desserts.

Saved money on Biryani course

I'm always looking for a good deal, so when I saw the Biryani and Pulao Special course on sale, I jumped on it. The discount was pretty good, saved me about 30%. The course itself was decent, learned a few new tricks. Felt like I got my money's worth. Just wish there was a clear option to download recipes instead of just viewing them.

Great value, minor issues

I got the Biryani and Pulao Special course. Content was solid, recipes were authentic, and my biryani turned out delicious. The price was reasonable, especially with the seasonal promotion. However, I had a small issue with the video quality on one module, it was a bit grainy. Customer service was responsive, but it took a day to get a reply. Overall, a good experience for the price point.

Detailed review of Baking course

I enrolled in the Basic to Advanced Baking course. The ordering process was straightforward on their website. I received my login details almost immediately. The course content was well-structured, starting with fundamental techniques and progressing to more complex recipes. I especially liked the step-by-step video instructions for frostings. The instructors were knowledgeable. I did use the 'Ask the Chef' feature once, and got a helpful response within 24 hours. My only small gripe was that the recommended equipment list could have been more specific for some items, like types of baking pans. Otherwise, a very thorough course.

Reliable quality courses

I've come back to Culinary Guru a few times now. This time I took the 'Biryani and Pulao Special' course. Like my previous experiences with the 'Indian Street Food Course' and 'Tandoori Cooking at Home', the content was consistently high-quality and easy to follow. Access to materials lasted a good while too. My only minor issue was the payment gateway was a bit slow to load.

Loved the baking course!

I just finished the 'Eggless Baking Workshop' and it was fantastic! The instructors were so knowledgeable, and the recipes were easy to follow. I made some amazing cakes and cookies. I'm definitely going to sign up for 'Cake Decoration and Frosting' next. My only slight complaint was the website sometimes lagged a little on my older laptop, but it didn't stop me from enjoying the course!

Good experience overall

I ordered the 'Basic to Advanced Baking' course, which was a pretty comprehensive package. Ordering was straightforward on their site; the course details were clear. Delivery isn't really a thing for digital courses, but access was granted immediately after purchase, which was great. I had a quick question about one of the ingredient substitutions, and their support team responded within a day via email, which I appreciated. The video quality for the lessons was excellent, and the chef explained everything very clearly. Some of the recipes required a few hard-to-find ingredients, but they did provide some good alternatives. I also got a certificate after completing it, which is a nice touch for my portfolio.

Anyone know if the food entrepreneur scholarship thing is real? Like, how do you even apply for that?

L Lisa M. 4 weeks ago
I saw something about it on their site, but not sure on the exact application process. I'd assume there's a link or a form somewhere on their 'about' or 'scholarship' page if they have one.

I Ian Lee 3 weeks ago
Yeah, it's real. I think it's for specific programs though, not just any course. Check the 'food business' section, it usually mentions how to apply there.

Anyone know if they do a first-time student discount? Looking at the Indian Street Food one but waiting for a good deal.

D Danielle 1 month ago
They usually have some kind of first course offer. Check their site or sign up for emails, that's how I found mine.

J Jeff N. 1 month ago
Sometimes they do, yeah. Also keep an eye out for seasonal sales like Diwali or Christmas, those often have bigger discounts overall.

Hey, thinking about the biryani course. Are these classes live or can I just watch them whenever I have time?

J Jacob 1 month ago
Most of them are pre-recorded, so you can definitely do it at your own pace. I did the baking one that way.

A Abigail J. 1 month ago
Yeah, they're not live usually, which is great for scheduling. You get to keep the materials too, I think, for a good while.

hey, was looking at the baking courses, do you guys get to ask the chefs questions during the classes? or is it just watching a video?

J Jeff Williams 1 month ago
Yeah, totally! Most of the time there's a Q&A section, or you can post in the course forum. Depends on if it's a live one or pre-recorded, but even for pre-recorded ones, they usually have ways to get your questions answered.

B Brittany Wright 1 month ago
Some are live, some are recorded. If it's live, you can ask in real time. For recorded, I think they have a discussion board or something similar where instructors check in.

Is Culinary Guru legit? Or is it one of those sketchy online schools?

M Matt Smith 1 month ago
It's legit. I took the biryani course and it was really well put together. The chef knew his stuff and the recipes were great.

S Sean Scott 1 month ago
Definitely legit. I got a certificate for my baking course and it looks professional. Not like some random PDF you print yourself.

Thinking of getting the pizza and pasta masterclass, do they give you an ingredient list before the class starts so I can be ready?

J Jeff N. 1 month ago
Yup, they send out ingredient lists beforehand. Usually a few days before if it's live, or it's just in the course materials if it's pre-recorded so you can prep.
2
S Sean J. 1 month ago
Always. They wouldn't expect you to guess what you need. It's usually a downloadable PDF or something like that.

Are there usually any big sales around Diwali or Christmas? Trying to time my purchase for a good deal.

S Sofia Smith 3 weeks ago
Oh yeah, absolutely. Diwali and Christmas are huge for them. You'll definitely see some good discounts then, sometimes like 30-50% off bundles.

D Danielle 2 weeks ago
For sure, look out for festival sales. That's when I bought my course last year, got a pretty sweet deal.

How long do you get access to the course materials for? Like, if I buy a course, can I rewatch it forever?

R Rachel A. 1 month ago
Most of the time it's lifetime access, or at least a really long time. I still have access to a course I took last year. It's not like a one-time view.
0
K Kyle White 1 month ago
Pretty sure it's indefinite access. I haven't heard of anyone losing access to a course they paid for.
